24 as everybody knows is a movie based on the concept of time travel. Time travel or a gadget which does so is not at all a new thing to Tamil cinema or even Indian cinema. Since it rarely happens people were bit skeptical and intrigued by the movie. When the trailer came out it was sure that 24 will have initial rush like none of Suriya’s movie. The most surprising thing about 24 is that the movie has been made in a crisp way. Those who watch the movie will directly plunged into the story rather than unwanted cliché build-ups of Indian movies. However there are certain areas where the director has lost his grip over the script. To sum up 24 is a movie that will be surprising, exciting and is also believable in the scientific way. The idea of adding romance, melodrama as well as comedy to a scientific movie might irk some but considering the wide spectrum of audience all these factors has worked out positively for the movie.
Sethuraman (Surya) a brilliant scientist invents a device that can make any living travel across time. Seeing the endless possibility cruel Athreya (Surya) Sethuraman’s brother tries to get hold of the watch. But he never get holds of it. The movie is about his greedy quest in years to get hold of the watch.
Suriya has done an excellent job in portraying 3 characters. The character which earned the most claps where that of Athreya the baddie. Samantha even though her role has importance in the story. She didn’t has nothing to perform than the usual. Nithya Menen as usual has done her job with grace.
BGM did by AR Rahman has done a crucial part in elevating the mood of the story. Already the songs has become super hit in YouTube. Another brilliant work from the Mozart of Chennai.
Brilliant cinematography by Tirru, Super good VFX, Excellent in audio section. Editing could have been bit more crisp in the second half.
One of the best in Suriya’s career in recent times. Definitely worth a try.
