Naseeruddin Shah has said earlier that a kind of mediocrity existed in movie industry in the 70's and that was due to Rajesh Khanna's entry to movies who according to Naseeruddin Shah is a poor actor.
As quoted by a him in an interview by a media website,
"It was the 1970s when mediocrity came in Hindi films. That's when the actor called Rajesh Khanna joined the industry. For all his success, I think Mr. Khanna was a very limited actor. In fact, he was a poor actor. Intellectually, he wasn't the most alert person I have ever met. His taste ruled the industry."
Happy with the comments about her late father former actress and the wife of actor Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna said in Twitter that,
Sir if u can't respect the living ,respect the dead-mediocrity is attacking a man who can't respond
